TY winds up having to use much more of his reserves of power and strength to win just this one. The next fight he is forced to use his sword formation or he would lose. Even then he almost dies and survives just by the skin of his teeth!

Nope, this guy is on authors humiliation list. Like Lin Langtian (WDQK) or Mo Li (Wu Shen Zhu Zai). They all get defeated and humiliated shitton of times before finally dying (or not, Mo Li becomes just poor comical relief who tries to escape as soon as he sniffs whiff of Qin Chen, but destiny doesn't allow that. Funny part is that QC actually treats him as dependable comrade, it is just that Mo Li always ends up second which ends in his pride taking the better of him)
